fine furniture design & cabinet making courses
Marc Fish personally trains only one furniture student at any time. This gives the student unrivalled attention and tuition. The furniture making courses are for 12 weeks or 40 weeks. The first 12 week cabinet making courses concentrates on furniture making accuracy and hand skills. A couple of small projects will be undertaken in this time. On the longer 40 week furniture making course students construct pieces of fine furniture to their own design. Both courses cover tuition in all aspects of furniture design, cabinet making, handskills, contemporary furniture making. The 40 week furniture making courses also covers setting-up and running your own furniture making workshop.
External visits to timber yards are included to gain invaluable experience. Both furniture making courses are tailor made and any special requests can be catered for. The courses are held at The Workshop where students will mix with bench rental users and see Marc Fish's award winning fine furniture being made. (Marc was awarded a Guild Mark by The Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers in August 2008).
